Drink tap water

The quality of drinking water is very good in Tallinn and tap water is excellent for quenching a thirst. In 2011, 99.66% of the water samples taken from customer taps were compliant with the legal quality standards. This is the best ever result of the Company in terms of water quality which is well comparable to the drinking water quality in Western Europe.

For the benefit of a clean Baltic Sea

Wastewater treatment at Paljassaare plant contributes significantly to the creation of a pure environment for the Baltic Sea. Since 2006 Tallinn is no longer included in the Helcom list of hotspots. This has been an excellent recognition of our investments made in the continuous improvement of our wastewater treatment process.

We create better life with pure water

Our performance impacts the environment and the quality of life of almost one third of the population in Estonia. Supplying high quality drinking water as well as leading off wastewater and storm water and conducting it back to the nature after treatment requires strong contribution and arduous efforts from our professional staff.

Connection

Our wish is to develop public water and sewerage systems in the whole service area. This will enable to reduce the risk of possible environment contamination caused by missing water and sewerage systems or pipes in poor condition. The biggest concern is those private housing areas, which do not have a public sewerage system and where wastewater may easily soak through the ground, contaminating the ground water – as these are the areas where water to consumers is often supplied from the ground water resources.

Connection fee is not charged from the owner or possessor of the property waterworks and sewer system in case changing the terms of connection does not cause any additional costs to the water undertaker:
  • in case of replacing the property waterworks and sewer system or parts of it
  • in case of changing the owner
