For us, addressing environmental objectives is not a one-off activity, but a continuous movement towards a fresher future. It helps us to see our actions as a whole and to understand how each decision affects the environment.

Water use
- We reduce clean water loss by minimising leaks.
- We reduce water consumption in our processes.
Environmental care and awareness, environmental permits and waste management
- All environmental permits are in place. Our actions or inactions do not cause environmental pollution.
- We develop a tool to monitor compliance with environmental permits.
- We reduce the number of properties not using wastewater services.
- We raise awareness of our environmental actions among various stakeholders to build and maintain the company’s good reputation.
- We hold a cooperation/training/information day related to Watercom's activities.
Wastewater treatment and monitoring
- We start optimising the wastewater treatment.
- We reduce sources of pollution in the Lasnamäe stormwater catchment area.
Greenhouse gas emissions and energy production
- We monitor greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater treatment.
- We produce our own electricity.
Waste management
- We recycle the waste generated during sewage sludge treatment.
- We reduce the amount of waste and resulting nuisance caused by the construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater pipes by increasing our use of no-dig methods.
- We recycle the waste generated by Watercom’s road maintenance, road construction and pipe construction works.
